Founder's Message

When we came up with an idea we felt was the missing link in AIDS treatment initially, Africa was on our minds.

AIDS-infected patients, lucky enough to find and receive drug therapies, would leave the clinics never to return.

Did they improve; did they get worse, or did they die?

Or, did they simply not return?  Health workers had no possible way to determine the fate of these patients. We both felt documentation of patients was the missing link.

An ability to follow a patient's progress was the only way for the clinician or the patient to know whether improvement was occurring. Health workers, given the proper hand-held device, could enter hundreds of patient records a week. And, a built-in fingerprint reader would keep confusion to a minimum. A quick (encrypted) link to the internet and records would be quickly uploaded, first locally, then redundantly, back to a neutral spot where prying eyes would never be an issue.

Living in San Diego, a technology center, helped greatly in getting us the start-up engineering and equipment.  After researching many products, both of us decided that CyberMedX, up the road in Dana Point, was the clear choice in patient record software for both quality and ease of use.  The guys at CyberMedX were so excited with our idea that they came to see us; a couple of high school kids with what we felt was a good idea.  And, not only have they customized some of the procedures; they donated the whole lot to us.

Speaking of donations, it was now time to form a foundation, bring in the brightest minds and go to work. We are proud of the way this activity has developed. It is now a full-on passion for us both.  As we grow in sponsors and countries, please help us improve.  Share with us any ideas you feel may assist us in the perfection of AIDS Database.  We pledge to keep operating costs to a bare minimum.  Moneys will go where they can do the most good.

Please follow us in our quest to fill that missing link in healthcare.
